BIG shock - this morning the speakers were shut off, and were not to convince to turn on
rebooting (several times) didn't help,
I checked the helpsites and found here the advice to re-install Chrome-OS - I DID create a re-installation thumb drive, but wasn't ready to risk (or try out) to re-install Chrome-OS
so I went back in mind, what did I change recently?
oh YES, I added the >Enable accessibility features< unchecked the >Enable accessibility features< , rebooted and voila, speakers are back on their job :::happydance:::
