since more than a year my Acer Chromebook was working without any problem, mostly on the dev-channel, but few days ago, I switched back to the stable channel...
BUT
yesterday, all at a sudden, the touchpad was "dead", USB-mouse was working fine though...
asked google and it came up with several solutions - the least "invasive" worked out fine for me:
unplug the power AND take out the battery for 10 minutes (or a little bit more) - found here
